FWC offers two Face-to-Face IOSH accredited safety training courses specifically for window cleaning covering essential information on current Health and Safety and Employment Law.

Cleaning Windows Safely

Using water-fed poles & Portable ladders. Written by Window Cleaners for Window Cleaners. Accredited by the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) Cleaning Windows Safely is a one-day course - no nonsense - hands on practical and theory - awarding an industry recognised qualification that can be used to gain more business especially with public bodies such as local authorities and NHS Trusts - This two-for-one course covers both the safe use of Water fed poles and portable ladders helping you or your organisation comply with legislative training requirements.

Please note with respect all candidates sitting these IOSH courses will need to be able to speak and understand English. Anyone with specific learning needs must contact the FWC in advance to check that arrangements can be put in place to accommodate them.

"Risk Assessment" IOSH Training Course

IOSH Accredited One-Day Risk Assessment Course - As an employer, whether a big business, small business, or just one-person operation. Accidents and ill health can ruin lives and damage your business so assessing and managing health and safety risks is an essential part of running a business. If you cannot eliminate all risk, you are still required to reduce risk and protect people as far as 'reasonably practicable' In respect of the practical assessment; those without window cleaning skills may find it beneficial to attend the above course first.

  • Show you how to put controls in place
  • Show you how to draft out the risk assessment
  • can be used as proof of prior learning for City & Guilds NVQ Level 2 Unit 201

This course is aimed at everyone within the window and specialist cleaning industry, specifically self-employed, employees, supervisors, managers and safety officers.
